Computational Techniques for Spatial Analysis

by SAL Plone Administrator last modified 2006-02-24 11:29

Course by Dr. Anselin at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign

This course is a workshop dealing with computational principles of Geographic Information Science (GIScience), or, Geocomputation. Specifically, it will involve the application and implementation of ideas from computational geometry, statistical computing and modern software engineering to the development of software tools for spatial analysis. The course will combine instruction in the open source Python scripting language with the study of specific spatial data analysis methods, and treat a range of under the hood computational issues that need to be tackled before an efficient software solution can be obtained.
