Ibnu Syabri

Ibnu Syabri has been involved in the development of software such as GeoDa and DynESDA (for exploratory spatial data analysis and visualization) at SAL. His research interests include spatial econometrics, spatial data mining, urban transportation, GIS, and remote sensing. He is currently completing his PhD on dynamic exploratory spatial data analysis for flow data in the Department of Geography at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky and bachelor of science degrees in Operations Research and Computer Science.

Oleg Smirnov

Oleg Smirnov was an economist at the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also worked as SAL’s software engineer. Dr. Smirnov’s fields include economic modeling in spatial and regional economics and macroeconomics, as well as spatial econometrics and computational economics. The author of over a dozen papers and publications, he has been involved in the development of software such as GeoDa, SMiLE (Spatial Maximum Likelihood Estimation for models with spatial dependence), DynESDA (for exploratory spatial data analysis and visualization), CleanCBP (for regional economic analysis), and DEMOS (for state and county population projections).

Yun-Tien Lee holds a BA and MA in Computer Science from National Taiwan University. He currently studies Actuarial Science at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At SAL, he works on cross-platform issues and new statistical features related to GeoDa. His interests are in statistics, and in fields related to actuarial and financial engineering.

Carolyn Dong Guo

Carolyn Dong Guo was a PhD student in the Urban and Regional Planning Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She worked at SAL and has been working as a research assistant of Professor Geoffrey J.D. Hewings at the Regional Economics Application Laboratory (REAL). Her interests are urban and regional economic analysis, OpenSource software programming and applications of spatial analysis and spatial econometrics.
